StillOn field manual
How to use StillOn with AI coding agents on a MacBook
Connect ChatGPT or Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, or Cursor, close your MacBook, and let StillOn release it when the work ends.
1. Connect your agent
Open StillOn → Settings → Automation. Under Connections, click Connect next to ChatGPT or Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, or Cursor. Each one says Connected when it is done. Restart OpenCode once after connecting it.

2. Turn on the 3 switches
All three are in the same Automation tab, just above Connections.
- Turn on while agents are working: StillOn turns itself on the moment an agent starts, so you stop arming it by hand.
- Stop when all connected agents finish: once the last agent is done, the Mac goes back to sleeping normally.
- Keep on while agents wait for approval: leave it off and a question from your agent lets the Mac sleep. Turn it on and the Mac stays awake until you answer.

3. Close the lid
Start the agent while the Mac is open and wait for the menu-bar icon to light. Then close it. StillOn keeps the Mac awake; it does not run your agent or read its work. Leave the Mac somewhere hard and ventilated.
Frequently asked questions
Which AI agents work with StillOn?
StillOn has local connections for ChatGPT and Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, and Cursor. Other tools can still run while StillOn is armed manually, but StillOn cannot automatically follow their start and finish states unless they have a supported connection.
Can StillOn see my prompts, code, or agent output?
No. StillOn receives local start, waiting, and finish signals. It does not read your prompts, code, tool arguments, file paths, transcripts, or model output.
Why did StillOn not turn on when my agent started?
Keep the lid open. In Settings → Automation, check that the agent says Connected and Turn on while agents are working is enabled. Also check the Licence tab and any battery or temperature warning shown by StillOn.
What happens when an agent is waiting for approval?
By default, an agent waiting for approval is treated as stopped because it cannot make progress without you. Turn on Keep on while agents wait for approval if you want the closed Mac to remain awake until you can answer.
